What a great couple of days! Yesterday we woke up at 6am and spent the day climbing one of Chile's most active volcanoes, Villarrica. After an early and somewhat nervous start we really got into what was quite a tough climb - ice picks and Crampons, the whole works! Although it wasn't exactly hot up there it proved to be great endurance training (my legs hurt today in the most bizarre places!) and the views of the surrounding Lake District were amazing! After a couple of glasses of Local red wine we were utterly exhausted and fast asleep by 10. today we moved hostels as there has been a massive influx of people into the town for the annual Pucon Ironman ( I'm already tired of seeing crazy fit athletes walking around town!) - we headed down to the beach and did some running and circuits, it was back up to 30 odd degrees today so it was good torun in the heat and its supposed to be even hotter tomorrow! I think we're meeting a friend for a few drinks tonight and tomorrow is our last day in the Lake District before heading back on a 24hour bus to BA, I'm sad my trips coming to an end but it's been awesome and I'm looking forward to focusing on the next couple of months of intense training and fundraising - I still have a long way to go on both! 82 days and counting...
