What a great couple of days! Firstly, I found out on Friday that my local radio station is really keen to run a live interview with me on the race in the new year, as well as this, Research magazine are hoping to write a spread on my training in January - It’s really exciting that my attempt to run the MDS is sparking some interest and I’m really hoping this will all help with my fundraising. I’ll keep you updated on progress....
We also had our Promise Christmas party yesterday, and what a fantastic day! We ran the raffle for the nights in Prague and managed to raise nearly £300 which I was over the moon with! A big thank you to everyone at promise for their generosity. We were also all given iPad 2’s as a thank you for a great year - we were completely blown away! how many employers give all their staff iPads for Christmas!
Anyway, I am now approaching the £2000 mark with fundraising which is encouraging but I still have a long way to go. Today I am planning on a nice long run with Byron Colbert - a good friend of mine and running partner.
I also want to take this opportunity to wish Tommy Tippetts good luck. Tommy is currently trying to become the youngest ever person to row the Atlantic, he’s had some difficulties with the boat over the last week and is hoping to set off again in early January - Thoughts are with you mate.
I’m spending the rest of the day packing for my trip away to South America, leaving in 6 days now!!
